Tal, thanks for getting in touch, see below a copy of what I sent to Noam (IAF International Affairs) on Tuesday:

The HCSC is the UK’s pinnacle Defence course and is run once a year for a maximum of 40 members who represent the top 2% of their profession (OF5/6). The aim of HCSC is to prepare future strategic leaders for higher command appointments across the defence and security environment. Next year’s course will comprise 25 members of the UK Armed Forces, 5 Senior Civil Servants from UK Governments Departments with a security focus and international military partners (Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, New Zealand, and the United States).

BGen Maisel approved the visit and the INDC have been assigned the lead. Col Priest reached out to Col Biran as they were on the Mabal Course together last year. Gp Capt Dickens has requested for the course “to understand the experience of the IDF operating Iron Dome”, in the context of a more broader understanding of missile defence. A meeting will hopefully clarify the intent and shape the itinerary for the Course visit in Feb. Hope that makes sense. The INDC will host a meeting on the afternoon of 29 Oct so we are seeking an Air Force meeting on the morning of 29th Oct in Hatzerim if required but perhaps in the Kyria.

The intent of the HCSC visit in February is therefore a little more than just a visit to an Iron Dome Battery but Gp Capt Dickens can hopefully discuss with you during his recce on 29TH Oct. Captain Gal Ballas from the INDC is the nominated POC for the overall visit and we’ll be meeting him separately along with Lt Col Matan Or and Lt Tobias Siegal on the afternoon of 29 Oct.

The request therefore is a meeting with you on 29 Oct, 1030-1200, presumably in the Kyria. I’d be grateful if you can confirm.

We’d then like to meet with Lt Col Matan Or, Capt Ballas and Lt Siegal in the INDC 1330-1500.

I’d be grateful if all addressees confirm the timing.

Regards

‘Rolfie’

Tal, I’ve just been forwarded your message to Col Jim Priest. I spoke to Noam about the visit yesterday. I can send you more detail in the morning and perhaps we can discuss?

Regards
