Sorry, let me clarify where I am in the process and why I am requesting this information. A week or so ago, I pushed up the request for the visit to the SHAPE command group. As I hadn’t gotten a
response, I called the military assistant for the COS and asked about it. He told me that due to political sensitivities with partners and allies, we (SHAPE PD) need to provide an assessment of the purpose of the visit to justify the need to meet with one
of the SHAPE four-star generals.
I want to make sure my assessment provided to my boss, DCOS PD, gives enough justification that DCOS will easily sign off on the visit and then get the approval of the command group to visit with
either the SACEUR, DSACEUR, or COS. If there is a schedule conflict and it isn’t possible to meet with any of them, I’m sure we can still potentially schedule the visits to CCOMC and other SHAPE offices of interest.

I am still trying to get confirmation for the 15 January visit but was told today that I need to provide an assessment on why the General is visiting and provide supporting documentation. Much of this will go into the
formal visit request I will put in once I have confirmation that the Command Group is able to support this visit.
Can you provide me with the General’s bio/CV and his main reason for his overall visit to Belgium? Please provide any particular objectives that he and/or Israel would like to attain out of his visit to SHAPE. While I
can provide the general purpose of the SHAPE visit, based on previous discussions and emails with you and COL Omer, I want to make sure I don’t leave out anything of importance to Israel.
