One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday afternoon in a rockfall at El Capitan in Yosemite National Park,
park officials said. Multiple people reported the rockfall just before 2 p.m. on the east buttress of the Waterfall climbing route of El Capitan. Yosemite National Park rangers and search and rescue officials are assessing the situation. Park rangers are working
to transport the injured person to a medical facility outside the park. It is unclear how large the rockfall is. This is the height of climbing season in Yosemite National Park. Stay with KCRA for updates. |
