Sorry for the delayed reply; I'm on leave. Unfortunately, Mr. Mike McCarthy had to cancel his participation due to travel budget cuts for Army Futures Command.
How did your chat with Mr. Lasch go?
As you know, we've been doing everything we can to get US Army participants, including sending out news to the entire joint M&S community via a high-level DoD official in the field. I'm afraid that we just haven't had any confirmed attendees yet.
Regarding Program Executive Office-STRI, they are more involved in virtual/constructed/synthetic training and simulators than in using simulations for strategic/operational purposes. Would you still like us to invite them to send someone?

The first job description you have for Mr. McCarthy is correct. He is the Chief, Plans and Operations, Network CFT, under Army Futures Command. However, he has a wealth of experience in modeling and simulations, including assisting some of our partners in Europe and the Middle East establish their own simulation centers. You'll have to talk with him directly to get more details.
Organizational chart, in brief: The Army has six modernization priorities. One of them is the Army's Tactical Network. The Network "Cross-Functional Team" is responsible for bringing together the many bureaucracies that are involved in the effort to modernize our tactical network, and making sure they are doing the right things on time and at the right cost. The Network CFT Director, Major General Peter Gallagher, reports more or less directly to the Commander of Army Futures Command, General John Murray. MG Gallagher and Mr. McCarthy were here for a visit in early June.
