Subject: Concept Development & Experimentation Conference
Classification: NON SENSITIVE INFORMATION RELEASABLE TO THE PUBLIC
Hi Neta,
The 2019 International CD&E Conference is ACT-run and will be held in Madrid, 29-31 October.
The calling letters, including one for partners, have been sent and registration will be open soon. In order to announce it, an invitation email will be sent to all previous attendees. I’ve attached
the invitation that was sent.
This year’s conference will discuss issues surrounding Innovation, Leadership and Decision Making, complementing themes that will continue through other ACT events, including the NATO Industry Forum
(NIF) and the Chiefs of Transformation Conference (COTC). As in previous years, there will be a keynote address, interactive panel discussions and the 'CD&E Exchange', a mini-expo promoting CD&E initiatives.
During the last two days of the Conference, the workshops and seminars will provide opportunities to explore challenges, and develop potential solutions for our joint and coalition forces. Workshops
will cover a variety of topics; the following are currently proposed:
- "Military Capabilities for the Grey Zone of Conflict", led by The Spanish Concept Development Joint Centre (CCDC);
- "Future Leadership", led by UK Development Concepts & Doctrine Centre and Germany for the Multinational Capability Development Campaign;
- "CD&E Toolkit", led by HQ SACT CNDV, OPEX and AOA;
- "Countering Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) - Handbook Refine Experiment", led by HQ SACT Operational Experimentation Branch;
- "Wargaming the Future", led by HQ SACT;
- "Military uses of AI, Automation and Robotics", led by HQ SACT and US Joint Staff;
- "Enabling Coherent Deterrence", led by HQ SACT Concept Development Branch;
- "Artificial Intelligence in ETEE", led by HQ SACT JFD and DEU MOD.
Additional information, including links to registration for the conference and for hotel reservations, can be found in the conference App, whose link and passcode are in the calling letters.
The App will be the central source for information and interaction, used during the Conference to provide program updates and administrative information, and to collect questions, insights and comments.
Let me know if you need more info!
Cheers,
Lindsey
