Hope the “Summer Break” is giving you some well-earned rest!
As you know, Air Marshal Hupfeld was moving on from the Chief of Joint Operations role just after he visited Israel last month. His successor, Lieutenant General Greg Bilton, will be doing a brief tour of all of the deployed ADF forces
in the region in late August.
As part of that he will have a short period in Israel, and so I am seeking a call on the IDF J3 on the afternoon / early evening of Thursday 22 August. He is flying in from Istanbul that afternoon and will arrive at 1540, so a 1700 office
call would probably be the earliest we could manage.
I would then likely have to drive him to Jerusalem for the next day’s activities. The following day he is meeting with our UNTSO deployed staff before departing on the morning of 24 August – a very quick trip with only short stays in each
location. He will undoubtedly do a longer trip later in his tenure, but this is just an initial familiarisation of ADF deployments.
If an office call is not possible then I could ask his staff about a dinner like you did for AIRMSHL Hupfeld if you think this is more likely.
