Good day Sir,

We briefly met in last December for a quick discussion regarding NATO SOF at SHAPE Partnership Division.

Reflected below is an opportunity for participation in a NATO SOF Innovation Workshop being co-hosted by Danish SOCOM in Nov 19. I believe this would be an excellent venue for IDF participation in a NATO SOF event.

I have include Sophie Hill in the email as she is the lead for the NSHQ Innovation Team and can enable IDF participation if interested.

Kind regards,

Ash Fleming

Good morning Ash,

Do you have a conduit for inviting the Israelis to the subject workshop?  If they accept, Sophie and team will adjust the classification accordingly.

Best regards,
Byron

Byron,
It would be great to have representation from additional partner nations at our workshop in November. I don't have contacts, for innovation or otherwise, in those nations. Please feel free to forward this to whomever you think might be interested.

It will be mostly unclassified but will require NATO Secret clearances for the facility. Hopefully that won't be an obstacle.

Very Respectfully,

Sophie Hill

Subject: SAVE THE DATE: NATO SOF Innovation Workshop 19-21 November 2019

All,

We are pleased to announce the 2019 NATO SOF Innovation Workshop, co-sponsored by NSHQ, Danish SOCOM, and the Royal Danish Defence College. This event will be held 19-21 November at the Royal Danish Defence Academy (RDCC), in Copenhagen, Denmark.

This event will focus on best practices and lessons learned from across NATO SOF on the mechanisms that support innovation, and feature insights from academia, senior leaders, and NATO SOF personnel on how to best enable innovation. This workshop is specifically tailored for NATO SOF officers OF3-5 and SOF senior NCOs who work in innovation or force/capability development at the strategic level, along with procurement and MoD representatives.

The NATO SOF Innovation Workshop has a full agenda planned, featuring presentations from NATO ACT and Science & Technology Office, Naval Postgraduate School, and innovation practitioners from NLD, FRA, US, NOR, and HUN SOF. There will be a training session from BMNT on problem curation, using lean start up principles from industry. Planned keynote speeches include leaders from across SOF and NATO on leading change and adopting new technologies.

A formal calling letter will be released soon, to include registration instructions and a draft agenda. We anticipate strong interest in this workshop and so registration will be limited to two per nation with additional seats available later. Attendance from across NATO and partner SOF is highly encouraged and we look forward to seeing you in November. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Very Respectfully,

Sophie Hill
