Subject: Planned Educational Tour of the AFP Command and General Staff Course (CGSC) students in Israel
Dear sir,
This refers to my earlier email addressed to ICU and COP dated 08 Mar 2018 regarding my queries on the possibility of the AFP Student conduct educational tour in Israel. Following is my earlier email:
Greetings,
The Armed Forces of the Philippines Education, Training and Doctrines Command (AFPETDCOM) is contemplating of sending students of the Command and Staff Course (CGSC) 61 for an
educational tour in Israel tentatively in September 2018. The students are composted of field grade officers with the rank of LTCOL. They will be the future Battalion Commanders, Wing Commanders, Ship Captains and Division or Area Command staffs. All of these
students are seasoned combat/service support and combat support officers who were all deployed in conflict areas in the Philippines in the past. Having taken respite now from the front lines, these officers will need exposures outside of the country to learn
new lessons of the strategic environment. The faculty of the school agrees that the best place to expose the students to the outside world is no other than ISRAEL, for which the majority of people in the Philippines considers her as the very beacon and cradle
of their Christian faith. If the educational tour will happen, this will the first in history that AFP students will be visiting the IDF.
The school intends for the following to happen during the tour:
1) Visit IDF school(s) which is equivalent to the AFP Command and General Staff Course (CGSC).
2) Briefings on the IDF Organization, Training and Operations.
3) Briefings on the Middle East Security situation and how Israel is coping with different threats
4) Visit selected Israel Defense Industries (Maybe IAI or Elbit Company and 1 Cyber company)
5) Acquaintance and fellowship with IDF soldiers (officers and NCOs)
6) Tour Israel's Holy sites
This is it for now. If the above mentioned will be acceptable to the IDF, we will submit a formal request so we can prepare accordingly.
In this regard, may I know if there is any possibility that our AFP students be allowed to go on Educational Tour in the IDF? Hoping for your prompt reply.
Toda Raba!!
Best Regards!,
