 RE: Joint Dissertation- study

Dear Captain Dimitrios Romanos

I was glad to receive your email; Ido Soceano has already updated me on the subject.

I would be very happy to think together about the various possibilities for joint action by the Command and Staff Colleges in Greece and Israel, and that cooperation can take place in different fields.

In the field of research, there are many possibilities for examining the cooperation between the countries and research on the subject. For example, research on joint coping with disasters and natural hazards (large forest fires, earthquakes, etc.) how to prepare jointly for such a case, and to create possible models for implementation if necessary. Other possible research could deal with joint defense against common threats (terrorism, threats to economic water, etc.), historical studies of cooperation between the countries, the impact of political policy on military cooperation, and so forth.

In the field of teaching one can think of a meeting between students, lectures via VC, joint lectures on a common subject, and more. And of course we can think of other collaborations, in different fields - between the two institutes.

From reading your email, I understand that three Hellenic students have already been admitted to Israel for a three-day study. I will be happy to help them with what is required for their research - lectures, meetings, (tours?) etc.

I think it is better to discuss all this issue together …

How do you think it's right to move forward?

With best regards - and towards fruitful cooperation in the future

Dear Major IDO Soceano,

Further to our discussions conducted by the Commandants of our Academic Institutions, during the previous visit of the Hellenic side to your premises, they decided Hellenic National Defense College sent three persons (Academic Students) to your premises, for not more than three days period, in order to cooperate with your Academic Students, for the Joint Dissertation- study on "Strategic and Historical Basis of Hellenic-Israeli Cooperation".

We have the intention to give the above mentioned study to our three students during the next Academic year.

The cost of the transportation, accommodation and food will be covered by us.

We would appreciate having your response if you have the intention to host our people to your site and when it would be more convenient to you to take place during 2018. Please take into account that our Academic year starts on Sep 2018.

Best Regards,

Captain Dimitrios ROMANOS H.N.
