I come back to you about this visit.

As you know it was requested from both sides during last Staff Talks in Paris, so if we plan to make it happen we need to make it clean since the beginning this time …

I suggest to plan this visit with BGR FACON and 2 of his officers well after the summer and the Jewish holidays period. So I recommend second part of October. His matters of interest remain the same : training of senior officers and doctrine

So could you tell me :

- if it makes sense to you and we can go ahead ?

- if the period is suitable according to you and would his counterpart be available ?

If both are ok for you I tell the General’s staff to book this slot so that we can make it happen.

Dear Ophir,

I request officially your help in sorting out this issue of the coming visit of the French Army  lessons learned / Doctrine / training Chief BGR FACON.

So far IDF Army helped us in preparing the visit, which is part of the  cooperation plan we adopted officially 22^nd of April and which has been planned for the last 3 years, but we are still facing some serious shortcoming I already told you about and now we need to face them or cancel once again this planned visit :

- the slot the general identified is 19-20th June but so far only 20 June is concerned with the proposed “agenda” (see email below)

- the general is responsible for LL and doctrine and therefore it’s fine he will have a meeting with Doctrine Branch but he is also responsible for training of high ranking officers ( MAJ & LTC) through Army  Staff College and we requested a meeting regarding this topic however I understand it is not part of your Army business so far we received nothing about this.

Since the beginning of the preparation for this meeting I told you “Army is great but should not be the only point of contact”…here we are, I need now a point of contact for training of high ranking officers.

- BGR FACON is on a real senior position, he will soon be a Major General, we request a formal meeting with a general officer from IDF who has more or less the same kind of responsibilities.
