Benzi,

I talked with B3 about it. He will support with some of our folks. If we have him behind it, then we will definitely have them come for the conference or even before for bi-lat.

Benzi,

We are looking forward to the summit. Below is the information we have to provide so far:

1)      What Branches in your military hold responsibility for Force Build-Up and Force Deployment?

a.       For the Marine Corps, we have several different elements that support this effort. Within Headquarters, Marine Corps (HQMC), this is handled by our Plans, Policies, and Operations office which is a 3-star element. Below that is what we call Marine Forces-Command (MARFORCOM) in Norfolk, Virginia. These elements support the “train, man, equip” mission for HQMC, but it is still up to the joint force combatant commands to have the lead for actual force build-up and deployment as that is their legal function.

2)      Does your military have an equivalent to the IDF's Concept Laboratory? If so, what tools do they utilize to fulfill their mission? (Example IDF's King's Game System, as presented in the slideshow attached).

a.       Yes. We have the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab at HQMC-level. We also have modeling/simulation centers at each Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF).

3)      Does your country have a Leading Industry in the field of Operation Simulation? (Example - Israel's Rafael).

a.       I don’t know. I assume so because we are the US, right?

4)      Are you aware or familiar with similar positions in Academies/Research Center's in your country that may be of interest to us?

a.       No…worth researching.

5)      Who are the relevant officials in your military that you would like the IDF invite to the upcoming Summit?

a.       We have a number of Marines and civilians in Marine Corps Base Quantico that would be good options to bring to the Summit. I will work that issue for you.

Subject: the 1st operational simulation summit

Distinguished attaché’s,

I hope this email finds you well, and that you are enjoying the last glimpse of the brutal Israeli winter.

We would like to thank you for your participation in the "Military Operation Simulation Summit & Strategic Overview" that was held in Camp Aviv on January 22nd, 2019.

This Preview Event is essential for the success of the Military Operation Simulation Summit that is expected to take place later this year, between November 12th - 14th, 2019.

The IDF - J3 has begun preparations for the upcoming summit, inviting participants and relevant officials to take part in panels and talks during the summit.

As part of these preparations, we would like to receive your input regarding the following topics:

1) What Branches in your military hold responsibility for Force Build-Up and Force
Deployment?

2) Does your military have an equivalent to the IDF's Concept Laboratory? If so, what tools do they utilize to fulfill their mission? (Example IDF's King's Game System, as presented in the slideshow attached).

3) Does your country have a Leading Industry in the field of Operation Simulation? (Example - Israel's Rafael).

4) Are you aware or familiar with similar positions in Academies/Research Center's in your country that may be of interest to us?

5) Who are the relevant officials in your military that you would like the IDF invite to the upcoming Summit?

Attached you will find the slideshow presented during the Conference and a copy of the “save the date”. A more detailed Official Invitation will follow.

As a reminder, we have available speaking opportunities!

My team, and myself, are at your service for any questions and concerns.
