Hey,

It will not be a problem. I've sent that base the DSDE, they said it will not be a problem.

The major general would like to know at which hotel the HCSC participants will be staying in Tel Aviv.

Also, will there be staff flying with the participants? Or will it only be the HCSC students be here by themselves?

Have a nice weekend,

Andrew

Andrew, for next week:

the RFV has been approved by DSDE for the original programme so I assume that the changes to programme (use of Palmochim) will not be a problem for base entry?

On Monday morning, I will arrive with the main party on the coach, Col Priest will arrive separately in an Embassy vehicle:

Wing Commander John Dunne, MFA ID 214330

Colonel James Priest, MFA ID 215228

Embassy driver: Mr Mel Cooper, ID 013850151

Vehicle: Land Rover Discovery 22-661-22

We will both depart on the coach to Palmochim.

As for timing, the Coach Company estimates that at that time of day it may take 2.5-3 hours to travel from Palmochim to Ramat David. Can you please confirm that the coach will depart immediately on arrival at Palmochim. Do we have an ETA for aircraft arrival at Ramat David?

Regards

Hi again,

I just got updated by Col Gilad Biran, Commander of the IAF Air Defnse Base (BISLA), that the person he reccomends give the IAF briefing be Lt Col Tal Caduri. Lt Col Caduri is the Head of the Air Defense Branch in the IAF. However, if you prefer, we can arrange for Col Biran to give the briefing instead.

MAJ Gal said that she can arrange a conference call between you, her, and BG Eran Ortal on Wednesday between 09:00-10:00.

Please let me know if that works for you.

I have attached the schedule with the updated names of the speakers.

Sincerely,

Hi,

The plan is for the bus to take the delegation to the Iron Dome, then drop them off at Palmachim. Then the bus will drive right to Ramat David (the ride takes around a little less than 1.5 hours).

In Palmachim they will split into two groups, each group will have transport to ferry them around.

In Ramat David, the bus will wait for them near the landing strip.

Andrew

Andrew, please confirm that the coach can drop the visitors at Palmochim then leave immediately to go to Ramat David. Does this leave enough time to meet the aircraft (what’s the ETA at Ramat David)? And will there be transport at Palmochim to ferry around the base?

Hi Rolfie,

We are still closing some final details for the trip. However, due to the expected escalation and other programs happening in the INDC, this is proving harder than anticipated.

This week the INDC is on a tour of the country, therefore Gal will only be able to sit with you next week. I will send you a proposed date in the upcoming days.

Best,

Andrew

Hi,

Got it. At the end of the tour in Tel Nof, the delegation will fly to Ramat David and go from there to the kibbutz.

I will check again with one of the officers from Protocol about meeting the Course in the airport. It does seem rather odd that you cannot join them if you did in the past. I'll get back to you once I get an answer.

Sincerely,

Andrew

Thanks Andrew, I’ll pass the message on about the gift.

The Air Force have separately asked me about the briefing requirements, we agreed that if they receive operational-level briefings at Tel Nov that meet the requirement then no need for an additional squadron visit at Ramat David – notwithstanding that the use of the airfield to fly the Course to the Galilee would be a good thing. I’d be happy to discuss in more detail.

I’m confused about entry air-side at the airport as I have done it many times on previous visits i.e. joined protocol to greet the arriving group at the Gate.

Regards

Rolfie,

I have passed the information on dietary restrictions to our kitchen staff. They will put together the meal for the delegation on 10/02.

My current understanding is that the MG currently has no preference for gift exchange.

We are still closing some final details about the tour. Once we get confirmation from all the speakers we shall send you a complete schedule with CVs.

I would like to update you that we tried to get Jim permission to enter the airport to escort the delegation when they land. However, we were informed that they cannot do that for non-israeli citizens. Instead, we will send some soldiers with Gal to expedite the process, and Jim will meet them at the arrivals hall.

Have a pleasant weekend.

Andrew.

Andrew,

the Request for Visit is with DSDE for approval, this was copied to both Gal and Tobias last week and contains all the names, PP, and ranks (attached). If you prefer you can add the detail you require to the nominal roll as provided to the hotel. All participants have a security clearance of at least secret and we are expecting briefings up to that classification. In terms of dietary requirements of the 45 pax: 2 x no fish/shellfish, 1 x Vegan (no meat, dairy, eggs or honey), 2 x Gluten Intolerant.

I’ll check with regard to gifts, do you have a preference?

In return I’d be grateful if you can provide the final programme (in English) as soon as available with names of briefers and CVs where available/appropriate of the briefers.

Regards

Dear Lucy,

My name is Andrew and I am the NCO taking care of the little details of the HCSC visit in February.

Thank you for sending the driver's info, but I was wondering if you can help me out with getting a bit more information:

  1. The name, rank and PP numbers of the participants in the delegation. We need this for a few things including entry to IDF bases, logistics of the flight from the IAF base to the north.
  2. Confirmation that all the participants have security clearance. We would like the delegation to be briefed on some matters that are slightly classified.
  3. Do any of the participants have any food restriction?
  4. Is there a plan to exchange gifts between the Commanders while here in the colleges?

I would also like to inform you, that as of now, the trip is unclassified. Meaning that pictures from the trip may be published on social media. We can, of course, classify the trip as "sensitive" if you may so wish us to do so or not publish certain details. Just let us know and we will gladly accommodate.

Looking forward to hearing back from you,
