Shalom Eran,
I hope that you are having a great holiday. I have received the final revision of my paper from Karin, and I have made the last corrections. She has cleared it for submission.
I do not know the process for final submission, and I think that Karin expects to receive the final paper submission from Mabal in order for her to then mark it (as per her e-mail below). Let me know if I need to send the paper to someone else.
Cheers!
Pat

I read the paper. The corrected version is more focused and comprehensive.
I have a minor editing comment: It is best you align the main text to both right and left margins.
Good luck in the submission process
I believe it will be sent to me for final evaluation
All the best

Dear Patrick
I read your paper.
It looks like you have put a lot of effort in your work.
I'm attaching my comments (stickers on the pdf file).
Most of my comments are related to the first part of your paper (until page 40)
I think this part is too detailed and too long. You should focus the paper on your main theme (which is not clear enough)
Some of the sections can appear in an appendix (figures and definition) in order to comply with an academic paper format.
All the best

I hope that you are well. I am now in the process of rewriting my introduction, and writing my conclusion. I should be done with the first draft in about 2 weeks, and will forward to you soon.
Concerning the French immigration issues and their resulting ghettos, as you have suggested, I have kept it in the paper. It actually fits well in my comparison of Canadian multiculturalism and Québec's interculturalism, as it shows the negativity that can emerge from a system which asks immigrants to push their culture aside. Again, thanks for the idea.
Once I will send you my draft, I will wait for your suggestion for a meeting date/time. I will be more than happy to travel to the Ruppin Academic Center as last time.
Take care!
Patrick

Dear Patrick
Thank you for the update.
I'm happy to hear that you are progressing in your work.
The focus on Canadian's immigration policies looks promising and I'm glad you followed my suggestion.
As you wrote, the comparison to the French case is not necessary. I think you should mention it in the background but without analyzing it in to details.
I look forward to getting the first draft of your paper
All the best

Subject: Paper progressing well
Hello Karin, I hope that this e-mail finds you well.
I am just sending you a quick note to let you know that my paper is progressing well. I am very happy with how it is shaping up!
Also, as I was reading through the reference material you have provided me and dug some more in the same direction, my paper has also evolved into something more focused on the varying faces of discrimination in Canada's immigration policies, and their evolution over the years, and of the diverging immigration policies between Québec and Canada (in the end, as you have suggested).
More specifically, my paper is now covering the integration processes of multiculturalism and interculturalism, the origins and the duality between Québec's approach to immigration policies and the rest of Canada, the initial presence of racial discrimination in their respective policies, and the National Security potential blind spot created by these different approaches to immigration. In the end, I am trying to show that Canada's immigration policies were not always perfect and still have challenges, including the diverging approach from Québec, despite today's perception of Canada as a welcoming country, and I am trying to show that Canada's immigration policy and laws are well built in order to preserve its National Security.
As I was progressing, I have determined that the comparison with France's immigration policies have become irrelevant, having more than enough material with Armony and Berry's respective work and the Canada versus Québec angle, and as such, I have decided to drop this part.
I am aiming at sending you the first draft by mid-April (maybe earlier). I hope that this is ok, let me know.
Patrick

Hi Karin,
Perfect! See you there. I will arrive by car; my full name and licence plate number are:
Patrick Lemyre
car licence 33-789-34
I have attached a rough draft of the intro to my paper which explains some context, also the areas that I would like to research, and the structure of the paper. If you think that I am aiming too high, do not hesitate to narrow my field of research or comparison of Canada, the US, and Germany (considering that I have essentially three months to conduct this research, while attending a full weekly schedule of classes). I could probably just focus on Canada and the US, or Canada and Germany.
Looking forward to meet you, and to benefit from your experience and knowledge of immigration.
Have a good night,
Pat
