The KJ family is invited to spend Shabbat April 12-13 at KJ for the Annual Synagogue Shabbaton sponsored by Suzanne and Dr. Norman Javitt.
Friday night Shabbat services are at 6:45 pm in the Main Synagogue, 125 East 85 Street (Sephardic Services at 6:45 pm in the Rohr Chapel). The dinner begins promptly at 7:45 pm in the Heyman Auditorium. Mark Trencher, president of Nishma Research, a sociological and market research firm focused on the Jewish world, will present at 9:30 pm on Are We Winning or Losing? Baalei Teshuvah, Off the Derech, and The Leftovers in the Main Synagogue. No reservation or payment is needed to hear Mark Trencher; you only need to pay if you are joining us for dinner.
On Shabbat morning, Mr. Trencher speaks in the 9:00 am Main Synagogue service on the subject Surprises About Orthodoxy ... Although We Never Bothered to Ask, followed by a catered lunch.
The reservation deadline for both dinner and lunch is 10:00 am on Wednesday morning, April 10.
