Gentlemen,

 

The IDF International Cooperation Branch is seeking an invitation for the IDF J3, MG Ahiron Haliva, to visit Australia late this year.  They suggested Nov.

 

From my limited understanding of the IDF, MG Haliva’s position combines aspects of CJOPS and Hd MSC.  I have asked the IDF to define their J3’s objectives, and they have provided the following.

 

(1)    Delivering strategic communication and provide a strategic brief.

(2)    Enhance cooperation between our Nations.

(3)    Learn about your planning and C2 process when employing forces in coalitions and/or far distance.

(4)    Use of modeling and simulation and TTX capabilities for wargaming.

 

If supported by CJOPS and / or Hd MSC, would you pls consider issuing an invitation to MG Haliva, ideally with a couple of options for visit dates.  I imagine a visit would entail time at both Bugendore and Russell, so probably two days (+/- visits to the Israeli embassy, AWM etc).

 

I will hand-over responsibility for Israel in early April to Brandon (cc’d).  Pls cc him on any correspondence re this potential visit.

 

I have cc’d my IDF POC and LTC Safi at the Israeli Embassy in Canberra.
