Thank you Shahar.  I am on vacation in the south this whole week, but probably LCDR Ryan Weber would be available and interested. He is CCd and I’ll WhatsApp him.

Copy Gilad.  Based on EUCOM not wanting to wait until Sunday vs Saturday, I can assure you all that they will not be happy to hear this, but I’ll pass it on.  Understanding that the IDF just found out a day or two ago – it is conceivable that it takes time to do an internal assessment on the full implications of a deployment like this.  However, do you have any more details on why it will take another week?  Is it time to get the Reserve Forces that would normally handle this kind of a deployment? Or some other physical limitation on the Base?  We will need to provide a rationale to EUCOM.  We can discuss further on Seagull tomorrow if we need to go there.

Respectfully,
Lt Col Caleb Olmert

Hi Caleb,

Thank you.

Regretfully it impossible to receive the first batch of equipment before the 20th  in February,

Because base 28 needs more time to prepare it properly.

Just let me know For any other question, and I will do my best.

Respectfully,

Thank you Richard.

Gilad, feel free to contact me on WhatsApp (below) or here with any questions.  Our primary Embassy POC for this event is LCDR Ryan Weber, but I’ll support (especially with Aircraft deployment topics) as much as possible.  MAJ Vance Morgan will be the primary POC for US Army Europe (10 AAMDC and Air Defense forces) topics.  Best to keep all 3 of us CC’d on the emails.

Shalom IDF/IAF Friends,

EUCOM is working on delivering a large package of equipment to Israel over the next few weeks.  They would like to deliver the first batch of equipment this Saturday (Shabbat), together with the redeployment (departure) of the JF people and equipment.  Below is their requested dates and aircraft stops.   Big picture: they would like to land at Base 28, drop equipment and then move to BGA, and stay overnight and then upload the JF equipment on Sunday morning and depart.  Because of where the aircraft and equipment are coming from, they cannot do the mission in one day (everything on Sunday for example).  The impact looks like 1x C-130J landing and needing to unload and depart from LLNV at some point on Saturday.

Please push this request up your respective chains (IDF J3, J5, IAF, etc) and provide us (the CC’d line) with an official answer if this is supportable (with a landing on or after Shabbat).

Please don’t hesitate to call/email if you need further clarification.

Respectfully,

Lt Col Caleb Olmert
