Dear Hadar,
It was very good to see you. The guy who accompanied the officers( do you have his name and email?) gave me a very useful but very quick summary of how you become an officer in the Israeli armed forces. Maybe you have some links to articles
on this? Or maybe I could talk it out of you?
I'm doing a book on how the world trains its officer class for 21st century wars and obviously Israel is near top of the list. The plan is to go to Israel with BICOM May 12-16 and either visit the Israeli Defence College during those days
or stay on longer. The ideal thing would be to chat freely with officers. The minder said yesterday that he would have a chat with an IDF spokeswoman about it but I'm not sure that he has done that.
Is there somewhere apart from the defence college that I should visit? Are there any retired training officers you would recommend?
A lot of questions- sorry!
Roger
