Subject: DCDC Visit - 20-24 Apr

Benzi,

I’ve attached a draft outline of the programme from DCDC that contains the necessary requirements.

Aims

- Discuss Global Strategic Trends relevant to the Middle East (from an Israeli perspective) eg Geo-strategic affairs including political, economic, military, population/demographics, climate/energy considerations.

- Seek Israeli cross-Govt, Defence and think tank perspectives on the Future of Competition and Human Augmentation.

- Use the information to update their latest Global Strategic Trends publication (link: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/771309/Global_Strategic_Trends_-_The_Future_Starts_Today.pdf)

It is recommended that you forward the link of the publication to the interested parties, in order that they can understand the range of issues the team wish to discuss.

I’d be grateful if you could organise the following:

·         Tuesday 21 April – MFA discussions and lunch

·         Wed 22 April – Discussion with INSS & IMOD and lunch

·         Thursday 23 April – Visit an independent Think Tank (eg Reut Institute or Begin-Sadat) to discuss Global Strategic Trends

Depending on availability, it doesn’t matter if you have to rearrange the order of visits.

The personnel attending from the UK will be:

·         Brig Lenny Brown, Head Futures & Strat Analysis

·         Wg Cdr Paul Zakary, SO1 Futures (climate change)

·         Lt Col Tom Quinn, SO1 Futures (Human Augmentation)

A member of the Defence Section will also accompany throughout.  Grateful if you could arrange transport for all participants.

Staff – Grateful if you could process the clearances.

Regards

Jim
