Subject: Visit to Israel
Dear Matan,
As I mentioned the last time we met, there will be a small delegation from the Swedish Defence University consisting of two persons who comes to Israel at late
February.
The purpose of the visit is, according to Assistant Professor Stefan Borg, as follows.
“The research project seeks to examine the ways in which Israel uses
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at tactical, operational and strategic levels. Of particular interest is the ways in which the IDF has employed a system of systems thinking in its use of UAVs. The project takes an interest in the historical emergence and development
of the Israeli UAV program as well as the current state of play.
The purpose of the research visit is to gather interviews primarily with current and former members of the IDF, as well as analysts and researchers in the areas of defence
and security studies, about the Israeli UAV program.
The research team consists of Dr Stefan Borg who is an Assistant Professor in War Studies at the Swedish Defence University, and Lt Col Rickard Lindborg, who is head
of the Air Section at the Swedish Defence University and a former fighter pilot in the Swedish Air Force.

Matan,
I wonder if you can arrange a meeting with some specialists at the Israel National Defence College or with some other specialists. Possible days are 25th or 26th of February. Thank you for answering both A. P. Stefan Borg and me.
Br,
