To make a long story short; I was diagnosed with a serious heart valve issue, had open heart surgery in November to replace my aortic valve and I have recovered very well and am back at work going fast again!
Congratulations on the well-deserved promotion….You truly deserve it and I am very happy for you and always proud to call you my friend!
I had a great Christmas at home and just a few weeks ago the Senate gave us another present-AQUITTAL!!! Hooray!
Mary and I will take a week to Hawaii next month, so it will be a year or more before we can come to Israel. I still plan to bring her. One of the Infantry Captain’s that gave a talk at the base close to Gaza, Yaron Buskila, came to DC to visit so I took him to lunch and sightseeing and a drink at the Trump hotel. We had a good time. He has retired and is doing public speaking and training seminars and is taking a new job with the city of Jerusalem.
Mary and the family are well. The President is well and, now after my surgery, I am well too. I hope all is well for you and your family. God bless you all.
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Are you coming to DC anytime soon? How about another Harvard course?

Don't know if I told you, but I was promoted to two stars three months ago. You have the equivalent of Major General. I still do the same job and beyond as you know me.
Our political situation is not so good ... and as you know we are entering a third election campaign.
Unlike many others, I see this as a positive thing - both democratically and secularly, which is trying to redefine itself within the State of Israel (but it's a long talk).
I was sorry to hear about the matter with Donald Trump, and I hope the Senate really stands by it as I know you are by it.
Besides when do you come here with your wife?
