MAJ Zimerman

Pleasure to meet you and thank you for your interest in attending this event. Please see additional details below:

The Humanitarian Operations Workshop (HOW) is a forum for participating countries to share and discuss best practices for Civil-Military planning and coordination in support of Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief (HA/DR) operations  The HOW promotes cooperation among military and civilian organizations in order to enhance regional preparedness, security, and stability.

The HOW will take place over four days with the following agenda:

  • Day 1 - Introductions and country presentations on how they each employ civilian and military capabilities in support of foreign and domestic HA/DR operations.
  • Day 2 - Civ-Mil support to public health and emergency medical response operations, concluding with a military capabilities demonstration.
  • Day 3 - Best practices in HA/DR planning (logistics, air, surface) for natural and man-made hazards, in permissive/non-permissive environments, and conflict settings.
  • Day 4 - Culminate with a tabletop exercise (TTX) that simulates a HA/DR event that requires multinational, civil-military coordination.

Participants ideally would include military planners (logistics, air, surface) with HA/DR experience, and foreign emergency medical team personnel.  Home Front Command (HFC) Search and Rescue personnel are also welcome.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or would like to discuss further.

Thank you, Al Gembara

LT,

I hope all is well by you.

We got the invitation for _______ and we are looking in to the possibility of sending reps.

It falls on a jewish holiday so we will see how we can work it out. Do you have a more detailed program/agenda for the conference? This way we will be able to tailor the right team of HA/DR personnel.

All the best,

v/r
