Wev’e been interacting with EUCOM – it’s been slow, but hopefully we will have a meeting with them in January. I hope we will find common grounds for a joint IO seminar, and have the JIOWC participate as well.

We can certainly talk, but let me provide you a little background.  JIOWC would be considered functional subject matter experts for IO, but have no geographic responsibility.  European Command (EUCOM) is geographically responsible operational entity.  They gave me some grief for talking to you without going through them.  I also have a hard time communicating with the Desk Officer, but I’m told anything we would do has to go through him.

 

Suggestion (without me having a lot of background):  EUCOM seemed to indicate they do have meeting/conference/seminars with you.  Requesting IO be the subject of such a meeting might be the most direct way to move forward.  EUCOM will request our support so you’ll have both geographic and functional representation.

 

That make sense?

To respond to my seniors who started this "how do we help Israel with IO?" question can I say that the interaction is in the works and our remaining role is to support any IO Seminar as SMEs?  Is there something else we need to do for this to occur?

I hope we can help, but feel dead-ended in what we can do.
