Ido and Dr. Stern--

Ido, thanks very much for the note and phone call.  I've provided the letter
to BGen Bowers' personal staff.  As I indicated on the phone, Gen Bowers
replaced BGen Gorry as the Commanding General, Education Command/President
Marine Corps University.  Gen Gorry has retired.  My apologies that we did
not know of this opportunity prior to your phone call.  While we'll send a
formal response to MG Hayman's invitation, I can let you know now that
unfortunately Gen Bowers will be in another program during February and will
not be able to join you in Tel Aviv.

Dr. Stern, realizing that the workshop is focused on participation by
commanders of national defense academic institutions, informally, I'll ask
if a suitable representative for Gen Bowers and the Marine Corps University
would be considered.  If not, we fully understand.

Thanks in advance.  As always, we appreciate the opportunity to join with
you in the study of the profession of arms.

university.

I would appriciate it if you could pass it on to the new president for
review. We are extending the deadline until the end of the month but would

In regards to the university journals, I have Cc'd MAJ Ballard from the
Defense Attaché Office in Tel Aviv and if possible, please send him any
material you see fit and I will be in contact with him in order to receive
it for the IDF Colleges.
