Dear Dr. Abbas,
Thank you very much for contacting me. I am also looking forward to meeting you and to enhancing cooperation between our two institutions. I remember fondly my visit in November to NDU and to CISA in particular. Please send my best regards to Andrew Novo and Michael Rupert.
I am still not sure of my schedule on early August: I may be abroad. I hope we will overlap partially and be able to meet; I will let you know as soon as possible. In any case, I will make sure one of my fellow instructors will be able to meet you if I cannot. I will also prepare a group of Druze former students and staff for you to contact.
Looking forward to meeting you in Israel or the US.
Sincerely,
Dr. Josh Krasna

Subject:Hello and request to meet
Dear Dr. Krasna,
I hope this note finds you well. My name is Rameez and I am an assistant professor at the National Defense University in Washington. I know you were at NDU last year, and I'm sorry I missed the chance to meet you.
I write because I will be in Israel during August and I was hoping you might have time to meet for an informal conversation. I would like to discuss teaching strategic studies to military professionals, and to learn more about how you and your colleagues approach this topic.
Additionally, I am beginning work on a research project about the Druze, and one of my interests is the community's military service. I am hoping to speak to you or others who might have advice for my project, or could direct me to others who might.
In general, I think it would be nice to deepen the contacts between our institutions. I do hope we can connect.
I'll be in Tel Aviv during the week of August 1 and in Haifa during the week of August 8.
Thanks very much for your time. I do hope we can meet!
All my best,
Rameez
