CDR Bernes, VADM cooper will be in Israel next week and he wants to discuss the LNO while in country. Can we get an update from you in what the status of the process is? We’re moving forward with the BDF but will need to finalize the MOA with y’all before the process can be completed.

A request  to negotiate the amended MOA is in Washington DC; it already cleared the internal CENTCOM approval process.  I’ll notify you as soon as I receive permission from Washington.

A request to amend the current MOA (countersigned by Israel on 21 Oct 2021) regarding the assignment of an ISR FLO to NAVCENT is being staffed through CENTCOM HQ.  After internal CENTCOM approvals are obtained, we’ll request “Approval to Negotiate” from Washington DC.  We won’t be able to negotiate the amendment until receiving that “Approval to Negotiate.”  This process will take at least several weeks to complete.

Admiral Cooper and Admiral Salama are planning to start the LNO assignment next month, something around December 15.

Im currently at the Fifth Fleet base in Baharin, we are here to advance the assignment of a laision officer to NAVCENT. 

 

I just had a great talk with Josh (cc'd) about the MOA and i understand that you guys at CENTCOM are going to take the lead on this one. 

 

I wanted to ask if we can schedule a phone call as soon as possible to talk about it.

 

Also, how you prefer to go through with the "technical" adjustments needed to the language

(For examlle changing CENTCOM to NAVCENT, and hosy government from U.S to Baharin)?
