Regarding the location and set up of the class, I will know for sure after we have an idea about the size of the group. It will either be a plenum or a meeting room, and they will have to sit 2 meters apart from each other. You will appear on a large screen. We can also break into smaller groups if needed. We have enough meeting rooms for that.

In order to progress I think the important thing for now is to prepare a fairly short document describing the course objective, outline and methodology. I will use that to approve the course with the commandant (I have a meeting with him tomorrow late afternoon but don't know it that's too early). It will also be used to inform the participants so they can make their choice. The next step would be to distribute the questionnaire. The second half of next week would certainly be possible.

Thanks for your message.  I am delighted that you find the first draft outline appealing and I am excited about the possibility of conducting a session for your program participants. 

A few comments/questions:

1. I can and will adapt the session outline and work between sessions to conform to your timing requirements.  I have identified cases we might use during the session. Would be good to get your sense of which are most appropriate.  We can discuss when we next speak;

2. I would want to distribute questionnaire as soon as is possible during the week of 17 May.  This would also give me time during the week of 24 May to adapt the session to meet specific objectives of the group;

3. Yes, work done before and between sessions will be connected to classes;

4. Fine on invoicing;

5. I take from your message that the class participants will be physically together in a large class. Please confirm this.  If so, can you describe the room set up, and also the physical distancing guidelines of the group.  I am trying to get a sense of what activities will be possible;

6. I can prepare a document describing the course objectives and outline that can be distributed to enable the participants to choose; and

7. Lets set up time later this week after your conversations tomorrow.  I can speak between 1400-1530, and 1700-1800 on Wednesday, 1400-1700 on Thursday, and 1400-1600 on Friday.  I can try and find other windows if these times do not work

I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow (or later in the week) on your decision as to whether to proceed, and when to speak.

We are starting to focus our thoughts for this entire week. I'll know better by Tuesday, hopefully, after speaking to a few other potential instructors. What we have in mind right now is to have 2 virtual sessions per day with you, 2 hours each (15:00-17:00 our time), and to dedicate the one session prior to that for the assignment between sessions (13:00-14:30). We also plan to offer the entire class a joint session in the morning (10:30-12:00). The questionnaire is something we can easily do. In which time frame would you like to distribute it? 

Regarding the preparation for the first session and the assignments between sessions, I would like to make sure that this is something they can do independently, or together as required, during the allocated time just prior to your session, as suggested above. I assume that you will use and refer to the preparation and assignments in each session (for example session no. 2), as one criticism we got in other courses was that the reading material was not connected to the classes themselves, and in this time of the year I want to make sure that we are responsive to their comments. 

Regarding the fees, I think we will need 4 separate invoices, one per session, but I still need to confirm that. The payment will be done through the Haifa University.

Finally, Zoom can work well for us. We can have them all sit in one large plenary so they can all be physically together, but that also depends on the number of participants who will elect this workshop.

I think that the way forward would be to set a time this week for an additional conversation between us as you suggested, and maybe to decide together what can be distributed to participants so that they can base their choice on it. Assuming I will finalize the Hebrew alternative this coming week, I would like to be ready to distribute some material on both options and let them choose by early the following week. Then we will also have the information about how many participates we will have in the workshop and who they are exactly. 

How does that sound to you?

Thanks again for your willingness to offer us this virtual workshop on a short notice. I think it will certainly upgrade their leadership capabilities. I hope we can make this happen and I look forward to speaking virtually soon.
