Dear Igal,
We are organizing a First Europe-Israel Virtual Strategic Dialogue on “The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict at a Crossroad,” which will take place on Monday 25 May 2020 at 4-6 PM Israel time. The meeting will be held via video conference.
Can you please recommend a participant from the College? Anyone specializes in this topic?
The Dialogue will be divided into two sessions. The first session, entitled “The Trump Peace Plan back on the agenda” will assess the dynamics in the coming months (with a new Israeli government, upcoming elections in the US, and a restless Palestinian system), the possible application of Israeli sovereignty in parts of the West bank, and what role Europe can and should play. The second session, entitled “Israeli-Palestinian cooperation in facing COVID-19” will address Israeli-Palestinian cooperation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and explore if this cooperation could serve as a model for engagement in other fields and the role Europe could play to help further this. All discussions are held under the Chatham House rule and remain entirely discrete.
Invitees include a carefully selected group of about 15 participants, including senior officials from various governmental institutions, politicians, as well as leading experts from various research institutes from across Europe and Israel.
Please find enclosed a list of topics and invitees.
Best,
Pascaline
